If you or someone you know is in crisis or despair it is important to get help straight away, particularly if you or the other person is considering self-harm or suicide.
If you don’t feel you can keep yourself, or the other person safe, seek immediate assistance:
go to any hospital A&E department
call 999 and request an ambulance if you can’t make it to your nearest A&E department
If you need support right now and don’t wish to go to A&E you can also try the following options:
Call Lifeline (Northern Ireland only) free of charge on 0808 808 8000. Lifeline is open 24 hours a day, all year round.
Call Samaritans on 116 123 free of charge. If you are happy to wait 24 hours, you can also email jo@samaritans.org for email assistance.
